Perhaps you are like me. I often write short Bible verses or passages on sticky notes or record cards and put them on my prayer board, in my Bible or in other places around the home. I have enjoyed writing out longer portions of the Bible in the past but wanted to become more consistent with writing scripture to help it sink deeper. I am developing resources to help me and I want to share them with you. You can find out about them here.

Write the Scriptures Together
It can be motivational and special to Write the Scriptures with others. Why not make this part of your next Bible Study or home group?
Here's how you can do Scripture writing with others. Choose what you will write. It could be a list of Scriptures on a theme, a favourite Psalm, or a chapter or few verses from elsewhere in the Bible.
Once you have gathered, begin with prayer to turn your attention towards the Lord, thank Him for the Bible, and surrender the session to Him. You could ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you as you read and write, and to help you focus.
Then each person can Write the Scriptures at their own pace. Once everyone has finished or after a predetermined period of time (you decide) each writer can share about the scriptures or their experience of writing the words of Scripture with their own hands.
Tips for Writing Out Scripture
Here are some Bible writing tips. Find a quiet space where you can concentrate on reading and writing. You will be less likely to make mistakes if you are in an environment with minimal distractions. Quiet can also allow the Word to sink deeper into your heart as the opportunity to focus and reflect can lead to deeper understanding.
Writing the Scripture does not have to be about creating beautiful calligraphy unless this is something you want to do as part of your worship. Otherwise, your normal handwriting is just fine! Some may like to decorate their writing with stickers and washi tape, and others may choose not to. Do whatever suits you! We may want to produce something visually pleasing and 'perfect' but the primary goal is to grow spiritually through the discipline. So relax and enjoy the journey.
