Hello!
Thank you for stopping by
My name is Boma, and Boma Means Blessed! I love to talk about, write about, and create resources to help you flourish in your Christian faith. Or as I call it: Live your blessed life.
For those who know... I do know that the name Boma means 'blessing' in the Kalabari language of Nigeria. But, have you ever tried to be a blessing to others without first understanding that you are blessed? Have you tried to give more than you have or felt stretched beyond your capacity? I have! It's really challenging, feels quite unnatural, and will inevitably lead to burnout. As the saying goes, "You cannot pour from an empty cup".
I have called this site Boma Means Blessed because I believe that our ability to thrive in life is directly connected to how well we understand and connect with God's unearned blessing. Truly identifying as blessed by God is fundamental to flourishing in life.
Regardless of what your name means, God has blessed you. Your life is not subject to fate, luck, or karma. God speaks good words over you; He blesses you. He has a good plan for your life and it is possible to live from that blessing: to have His joy, His love, His peace, and more fill us and flow out of us to others. God's resources are endless while ours are limited. The more we connect to God, the more we can experience life as God intends.
As a Christian, a wife, and a mother, with a full-time job and more on my plate, I know what it is like to feel overwhelmed, stressed, and pulled in more directions than you can count while trying to keep your faith at the centre of your life. You may be juggling different things but the point is the same: maintaining and developing a flourishing relationship with God does not have to be a struggle. We can connect with God throughout each day even in the busyness. No matter what competes for our attention, we can fulfil our various roles and responsibilities with the Holy Spirit's guidance and strength. We do not have to do life alone or depleted. Jesus said,

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)
Jesus will not run out of life; He has life beyond measure. And it is ours for the taking, My hope is that through this online space all of us can find ways to connect to the abundant life God has blessed us with, no matter what stage of phase of life we are in.

Connect with God
The ultimate blessing is that through Jesus Christ we have access to the Father. I have found that developing consistency and rhythms in these four areas helps develop on ongoing connection with God that lasts beyond our quiet time:

-
Scripture
-
Prayer
-
Fasting
-
Silence & Solitude

That's why these are the areas I focus on in much of my writing here. We don't pursue the blessings of God apart from Him. We search out the endless depths of God because He has blessed us to be able to do so.

Blessings!
Boma
